Have you ever noticed during the change of season from Summer to Fall that one minute, leaves are green and the next they’ve changed to hues of yellow, orange and brown? All of a sudden, those leaves that once clothed the trees have turned dark brown and have fallen leaving the tree branches naked. When this happens, do you hear any noise?
Have you ever noticed the change of season from Winter to Spring? Those once bare trees (and bushes) are suddenly adorned with green buds giving way to green leaves and a variety of colorful flowers. When this happens, do you hear any noise?
How about sunrise or sunset? Ever witnessed it? It happens in a matter of minutes. Again, do you hear any noise? The answer is absolutely not. We hear nothing yet Fall and Spring happen every year right on schedule. The sun rises and sets everyday whether we’re able to observe it or not.
We firmly believe these events are evidence of God at His very best. An outward display of power so awesome yet so quiet that if you don’t stop long enough to look, you most certainly miss it. God is showing us that He is all powerful but quiet at the same time. God is reminding us that He does His most magnificent work when we seldom pay attention. Whether we choose to acknowledge the work, the phenomenon taking place around us, it still happens.
Let this be a reminder that if God can do these things day after day; season after season and year after year, He surely can cause change and movement in all areas of your life. Don’t limit God’s power or expect His work to show up as a loud, forceful, shakable movement. It’s up to you to stop long enough to see how God is moving in whatever situation you have prayed over; whatever situation you’re stuck in; whatever situation from which you want to be delivered. If you ever have any doubt as to what God can do, we urge you to take a look around outside.
